Fulton's Roots
Fulton
Valley Farms is comprised of members who have been in the poultry
business since 1925. Back when there were small poultry plants located
in almost every town, Fulton's founders each owned and operated their
own facilities.
As the Bay Area became increasingly urban and the towns became more
populated, it became difficult to maintain so many small plants. The
founders got together and bought the buildings and properties to put
together what is now Fulton Processors, in the heart of the Wine Country,
Sonoma County.
Fulton Today
Fulton Falley Farms is a Sonoma-based modern old fashioned company.
Fulton is modern in sanitation, equipment and management. Fulton has
kept old-fashioned values by producing the best chicken, not the most
chicken. Fulton's slower production: more hand work, extra inspection,
daily deliveries of product and low temperature processing, are not
cost efficient, but are assurances of higher quality. Their growing
program does not use prophylactic antibiotics, appetite stimulants
or marigold seeds for skin color. Today's Fultons range of products encompasses Sonoma Select, Range & Range Organic for a very complete line of poultry to fit every need.

No
Chemicals! No Hormones!
The main factor in a chicken's quality and taste is its feed. Many
mass market chickens are raised on a feed formula that is derived
by computer programs designed to maximize quick growth and minimize
costs. The cheapest grain of the day or the week that fulfills the
minimum nutritional requirements is used.
A cheaper grain
never replaces the corn in a Fulton bird's diet. Fulton Farms'
chickens are raised on a feed formula that is designed for the best
quality bird. The mixture is never changed because of fluctuating
costs in the grain market. The feed forumla is about two-thirds corn
and 15-20% soybean. There are slight variations between summer and
winter formulas, however, but these are due to the changed requirements
of the birds in different temperature conditions.
Fulton's finished
chickens are not gassed or chlorinated, but packed in old-fashioned
ice. This chicken is simply the best around.
