Mission Statement
Modesto Food Distributors began as a distributor of specialty chickens in 1972 as part of a dream of four local poultry families to produce the best possible chicken, which they named Fulton Valley Farms. As we grew in size, delivery area, and product line, we strove to maintain excellence as our primary goal. The operating management team was able to purchase the company in 1998, and the current management owns and have a personal stake in the success of the firm. Modesto’s employees are the key to continued growth and success as success is a group effort. Every order involves our complete staff in some way.
We want to continue to grow in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. We know that CHANGE is the key to continued success and that we have to adapt to new markets and have made it our goal to be first in line in “saying we can do it” when we get a request for something new. Modesto Foods feels that our varied customer base of retail markets, wholesalers, restaurants, institutional feeders, hotels, and caters gives us an advantage adopting new ideas. This base allows us to get new ideas from all parts of our industry and helps us adapt to new ideas and to innovate. We continue to maintain our own meat and poultry cutting rooms that allows Modesto Foods to respond to new customer needs and allows product development “in house.”
This is an exciting time to be in the fresh poultry and fresh meat business as the when, where, time, how, and what people eat is in flux. We enjoy what we do and have assembled a team that is willing to what is needed to adapt to new markets.
